Hi Matthew - sorry for the delay... I'm afraid we've both been back into full time work :-(

With all of the tour operators, there are places to leave your bags during the activities (hostels etc), but we only had a small pack anyway, we left our full sized bags back in Cusco in storage at the hostel.

Once you're actually at MP, there are lockers outside the gates, they won't let you in with full size packs.

Have fun, you'll love it!

My friend and I are taking this trip in Sept. 2015.
Do you have any advice regarding backpacks or gear?
between hiking and the jungle portion, it's diffucult to decide what would be best.
When you are participating in activities, bikin and white water rafting; where do yuo store your packs?
when hiking to machu picchu, if you hike huayna picchu, do you carry your backpack or can it be stored somewhere. I'd like to know, so i can adjust how and what to pack.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
