The first time I walked into an ‘outdoorsy’ store I was seriously out of place. When deciding on going travelling around South America I hadn’t really thought about the attire involved or all the equipment and random belongings I was going to need. So here I was, in a floral skirt, trying on walking boots.
It’s been downhill since then and I’ve found myself Googling all sorts of strange things for example ‘women’s knickers with pockets’… yes, they do exist. I’ve also spent entire evenings watching YouTube video’s on ‘how best to pack a rucksack’. I think it’s safe to say I am prepared for this trip.
We’ve been going on regular walks in our boots to break them in and attempt to get fit. I even wear my waterproof jacket on wet days now…it doesn’t quite work when carrying my Mulberry handbag. I feel I have turned into those people who wear trainers to work *shiver*.
I’m actually enjoying buying microfibre towels and fleeces. Oh, how I’ve changed.
Now I’m really starting to get excited about packing it all into my bag (with my newly purchased packing cubes, of course) and heading off on our adventure!
