San Pedro de Atacama is a Chilean town which lies at an average of 2,400m above sea level. Although we would soon be much higher in Bolivia, this was our first time at this altitude which made everyday tasks a bit of a chore! (more…)
Bariloche – where there’s more to do than just skiing!
San Carlos de Bariloche is a small city situated in the foothills of the Andes on the southern shores of Nahuel Huapi Lake, within the Nahuel Huapi National Park. Although incredibly popular with snow-sport enthusiasts, Bariloche is also becoming a hot-spot for cyclists and trekkers. (more…)
Visiting Iguazu Falls, from Two Different Countries
Iguazu Falls is the point at which the Iguazu River reaches and cascades over the Paraná Plateau, on the border between Argetina and Brazil. The vast majority of the river runs through Brazil, originating at Curitaba. Disappointingly enough for Brazilians, though, the river stabs Brazil in the back at the last minute as the largest portion of the falls lies in Argentina. (more…)
A Quick Visit to Paradise in Paraty
We only had a quick stop in the beautiful coastal town of Paraty (20hrs to be exact) but what a lovely little stop over it was.
Paraty is a Portuguese colonial town conveniently located between São Paulo and Rio. We were coming from Rio which was only a 4 hour bus journey and the views along the coastline were spectacular. (more…)
